Evaluation
After been told the brief we brainstormed different ideas on what kind of pixelation we should create, after coming to an idea we all agreed upon we split up into three pairs to do different tasks my pair did research into lighting and camera shots in horror films and pixelations and the other two pairs did the script and character design, while doing this we also story-boarded 30 seconds each of the animation so it came to 3 minutes of storyboard but I ended up having to do two sections of the storyboard as one person from are group didn’t feel comfortable planning out there part.
We then went onto practice doing certain shots we went sure about like when the table cloth is put down on the table as we had a few different ways we could of shot it, we did this in the sound room as when we got there the film room had been fully booked all week. We had planned to do the whole animation in the film room but with it been fully booked we had to find another room to shoot it in, We eventually found a room we could use on Wednesday and Friday in the garage that didn’t have windows so we could setup are own lighting which we desperately needed to do.
When we went to shoot our pixilation animation we took 2 types of lights but only ended up using the duller ones as the others were too bright for the effect we wanted. While shooting we ran into a few problems as some people went willing to compromise on their story board even though it wasn’t working their way but we eventually got through it and produced a series of shots we were all proud of.
We chose to use quite a lot of over the shoulder shots and wide angle shots as most of our research into old horror films reflected upon this.
We then used Istopmotion HD to put all the shots together at a speed we liked when we came to do this we realized we hadn’t taken enough shots to make it 3 minutes as we had taken the photos at 6 fps instead of 12 so are animation ended up only been about one and a half minutes long.
One of the main problems we had as a group was getting everyone together at the same time because we are a group of 6 and 3 of our members live quite far away.
I feel in the end we really surprised our self with some of the shots we produced, my favorite has to be the shot were the doll is climbing over the table to attack the girl as her arm seems to extend as she reaches out we produced this by zooming in as the doll got closer. My least favorite shot was were the girl gets pulled into the book which was actually part of my storyboard but when we came to do it we didn’t have much time left and it shows that we rushed it because when we zoomed into the book we forgot to remove the shoes which should of gone after one image, the girl also disappears into the book way too fast. I fell if we get more time we should re-shoot that scene as well as a few others to make it as good as we possibly can.

Little Red Riding Hood Assignment
Brief
As a group you will pick a well-known traditional story and re-imagine it for the modern world. you will divide it up into sections and the in smaller groups or individually you will produce a series of shots for each section. you will connect all the shots in a video sequence or slideshow to present in week 6
we decided as a group to make the red riding hood story modern by changing the wolf into a kidnapper to make it something that could actually happen in real life, we also changed some of the characters to be played by different genders for example the hero (previously the woodcutter) is now played by a girl.
My Scene
I was responsible for scene 4 what was the action scene so i wanted to use the first panel revealing the face of the wolf character, i then used the next 3 panels to show the wolf assaulting red riding hood, i used 3 frames for this as i wanted to show it was quite a fast scene as the wolf overpowers her easily. the last 2 panels are of red riding hood getting tied up to show she has been captured and is helpless, in the final frame you also see the relative that little red riding hood was meant to be meeting in the background showing she has also been captured.
Editing
when editing the images we decided as a group that we would make them black and white with little red riding hoods jumper staying red to reference the red as well as show danger.
